If you have installed the Internet Explorer 9 RC & want to remove it. You can do it in a similar way as in case of IE 9 Beta. Just follow the steps below.

1. Open Control Panel and click on “Programs and Features”.

2. Now click on “View installed updates” link given in left sidebar.

3. You’ll see “Windows Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate” update listed there. Select the update and click on “Uninstall” button in toolbar or right-click on the update and select “Uninstall” option.

4. That’s it. It’ll require a restart. After restarting IE9 RC will be removed from your system.

  1. I do not get offered the ‘Windows Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate’ update listed under ‘View Installed Updates’. I therefore cannot use this method and it seems I am far from the only one so affected. Poor form from MS that it leaves users stuck like this with no way of uninstalling the browser short of rebuilding the entire machine. I cannot update it to the current version either, since it fails part way through. So I am stuck between a rock and a hard place – if it would stop nagging me to update I wouldn’t mind so much (I prefer Firefox anyway) but it does this whenever an app (eg Yahoo chat) launches its email window. Very, very poor piece of software, Microsoft.
